What is Kathak Baal Katha about?
Kathak Baal Katha is a joyful and immersive introduction to Kathak for children — a space where storytelling meets rhythm, and where classical dance becomes an exciting world of imagination.
Rooted in the rich traditions of Kathak, this program uses stories from Indian mythology, nature, folk tales, and rhythmic poetry to help children understand movement, emotions, characters, and expression in a way that feels alive, relatable, and creative.
Stories allow children to understand the world, connect with culture, and explore emotions. In Kathak Baal Katha, each story becomes the seed from which movement, rhythm, expression, and creativity bloom. Every term, a set of meaningful stories and rhythmic pieces are chosen around a central theme.
These stories act like pathways — one leading to expressive Abhinaya, another to rhythmic footwork, yet another to creative movement, music-based play, or simple compositions.
Each story becomes a map, guiding children through Chakkars, Tatkaar, Mudras, Rhythmic Patterns, and Bhava, while also offering imaginative adventures into drama, drawing, rhythm games, and musical storytelling.
The goal is to deepen their cultural connection while nurturing confidence, creativity, and self-expression.
The program culminates in an intimate showcase where every child discovers the joy of Kathak, rhythm, and storytelling, and the power of expressing themselves through the classical arts.

She is a dedicated Kathak teacher and a loving mother, who found her passion for the art form later in life. Despite starting her training at a later age, her commitment to Kathak has been unwavering. She immerses herself fully in the dance, continually refining her skills and deepening her understanding of the classical art form. Her love for teaching children is evident in her classes.
She has a special way of connecting with young students, using patience, encouragement, and a nurturing approach to help them grow. She believes in making learning fun and accessible, allowing her students to feel confident while building a strong technical foundation in Kathak. As a mother, she brings a warm and caring presence to her teaching, creating a safe and supportive environment for her students. Her life experiences have taught her the value of balance and discipline, which she imparts to her students not just through dance, but in life lessons as well. Though she started her journey with Kathak later than most, she has fully embraced it as her calling. Her dedication to the art form, paired with her genuine love for teaching kids, makes her a beloved and respected teacher in the dance community. She balances her roles as a mother and teacher with grace, showing that it’s never too late to follow your passion.
